Egress Link is a terminal polling application to collect clocking data from Time & Attendance terminals and store the data in its own MS SQL Server Express database. This data can then be used to feed other software such as Focus Pro T&A application. Egress Link can also be installed and run as a Windows Service. This allows Egress Link to run as a background process and can be configured to continue to run when the current user is logged off.
Example implementations for Egress Link:
- Used on its own, Egress Link can provide basic facilities for storing and viewing data such as Clock In / Out times
- Used as part of an in-house system, Egress Link can facilitate the retrieval of data from Data Terminals. Applications could include: Time & Attendance, Job Recording, Warehouse Stock Tracking or any application that requires the use of remotely collected terminal data
- Alternatively, Egress Link can interface existing terminals with third-party software that does not support the desired terminal types
A variety of different terminal types can be used with Egress Link, including:
- Feedback terminals using the FAMS protocol, such as the Kestrel, via RS232 or TCP/IP
- Older Feedback terminals using the original Source FAMS protocol over RS232
- Some Custom Micro terminals may also be used such as the 900 series, both RS232 and TCP/IP
