Switch2 is a standalone product suitable for external use in applications requiring high levels of security and is ideally suited to a business looking to provide an economical method of controlling a door, gate etc... where it is unnecessary to configure or record information via a host computer. Comprising a separate control unit and reader (the control unit is installed in a safe area to avoid tampering), Switch2 systems are a scaleable, easy-to-manage access solution ideal for small to medium sites. Switch2 uses the same card and fob management system as the Compact system, and is also available with proximity, magstripe and keypad variants.

| The Switch2 control unit
stores the access permissions of each user for a particular door. Multiple control units can be used across a site to
control multiple doors using the same cards or fobs. Installation is simple. Connections are available for up to 2 readers per door (in and out), a power supply and door contacts. The unit also has a volts free relay output to switch a lock or electrical device. An output is available when used with door contacts to give a door forced alarm. |

Cards or keyfobs are supplied in packs. To enroll a pack into a particular controller, simply present or swipe the enrollment card in the pack to each reader and the entire pack will be added. Every card or fob is supplied with a corresponding shadow card. As they are issued, the name of the user is marked on the shadow card. If someone is to be removed or loses thier card, the shadow card marked with that persons name is presented to all readers on site. This action invalidates the card or fob. Another card or fob may then be issued for that user. |

Push-to-Exit button Where an 'out' reader is not required a simple sprung push-button can be used to release the lock for a pre-configured amount of time. Available in various sizes and styles. |
|
Emergency Break-glass Switch Used to provide a means of unlocking the door from the inside without the reliance on electronic circuitry. Upon breaking the glass, the internal switch is opened and the power to the lock is dropped. With few exceptions, we always insist on installing such a device to every controlled door. |
|
Electric Key Switch In case of malfunction or damage to the equipment, a Key Switch can be installed to provide an alternative means of unlocking the door from outside. This is normally only required if there is no other method of accessing the inside of the door - where the system can be disabled. |
|
Electric Lock Electric locks are available in many formats including Rim Locks, Magnetic Locks and Shear Locks. Depending upon type, a lock can be either fail open (fail safe) where constant power is required to hold the lock closed, or fail closed (fail secure) where power is only required to open the lock. Please contact to discuss the most suitable lock type to fit to each individual door. |
|
Employee Access Cards & Fobs Depending upon the reader selected, credit card sized proximity or magnetic stripe ID cards are required to be distributed to your personnel. Alternatively proximity keyfobs are available (as shown). Special Function cardsFunction cards are provided with each card or keyfob pack for configuring the Switch2 control unit. In addition a shadow card is provided for every user card or fob. Full instructions are included with the pack. |
