Leisure – The Hurlingham Club
The Hurlingham Club is recognised throughout the world as one of Britain’s greatest private members’ clubs set in 42 acres of grounds with approximately 350 staff onsite. They were initially introduced to Egress via Cascade HR as Cascade’s preferred Time & Attendance partner.
The Hurlingham Club were specifically looking for the T&A system to provide the following functions:
- Six Biometric clocking terminals.
- Rota facility
- Export of deductions to Earnie
- Integration with CascadeHR
The Focus Enterprise Time & Attendance system was implemented in 2013 with Biostation Fingerprint clocking terminals.
“The requirements of the T&A system were hard as we have a large number of shifts with different overtime rules associated depending upon contract type. The allocation of the rules needed to be broken down by department so we could separate time planned/worked into different cost centres. We knew that whatever T&A system we chose needed to be flexible enough and have the ability to be modified to suit what has evolved into a complicated set up. We also have an existing Payroll system that we need to be sure could be exported to by the T&A system, which is complicated by the requirement of breaking down by cost centre. Egress liaised with our payroll department and the payroll company to develop a test export to prove Focus had the ability to do this.
“Throughout the implementation of the T&A system we found the Focus system could be adapted to accommodate the majority of our requirements and where necessary Carl and the Focus developers have either created special scripts or made modifications to the software to give us the extra functionality we require. We think that a larger T&A supplier would be less willing and slower to do this.
“We are now at the stage where Focus has been rolled out across the company and all department managers are using Focus to rota their staff and manage timesheets (in addition to old paper-based procedures whilst we work on the link to payroll).
“The next phase is to look at the absence export to CascadeHR and the Payroll Export – both of which are likely to be in the New Year.”
